Building new communities - student journalism project

Hello everyone. I am a student journalist from the University of Stirling, and I'm currently putting together a project on the creation of new towns. After a decades-long lull, several new communities have suddenly begun popping up around Scotland, and I'm trying to investigate this phenomenon from several different angles.

I'd like to talk to a community psychologist who might be able to tell me how new towns form and grow from a psychological point of view. I hope to find out how living in a brand new place affects a person differently, compared to a community that has already been established. How does a community form in the first place? Are there theories that concern recently established communities and their stages of growth?

Would anybody on this forum be able or willing to talk to me about this for my project? Thank you very much for your help.

Craig
