The 5^th International Conference on Community Psychology (CIPC) will take place from September 3^rd to 6^th, 2014, in Fortaleza – Ceará, North East Brazil.

Perhaps such events have limited usefulness - hot air and carbon emissions, and few can go - but in this case the event should be very interesting.  In Ceará a unique approach to community psychology has been developed.  Sadly there is little or nothing on it (yet) in English.  It builds the traditions including Popular Pedagogy (Paulo Freire started his work in North East Brazil), Liberation Psychology, Biodanza, Community Therapy, and in my estimation has an exemplary approach to working with communities and their members.  It is to be hoped that some of this will be on show at the Congress.
