Dear all,

On the Ning, we do our utmost to ensure that you can network safely with people who have a shared interest in Community Psychology.

Unfortunately, at times we may get people joining the Ning who have the sole intent to spam our Ning members.  Can I please ask you to be on guard and alert to this possibility.  We do our best to guard against the risk of spam and we regularly have checks to do this with the intent of protecting our Ning members.  Unfortunately, on occasions, someone with intent to spam our members does manage to get through our filtering efforts.

Typical messages tend to follow a pattern like the following, which several of our members have received:

"Good Day,

How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on [email address] for the full details.

Have a nice day

Thanks."

Please do not reply to these messages! If you get any of these kinds of messages, please report it to the Ning administrators immediately. Click on 'forward' and forward it onto Rob Davies, who is currently overseeing the Ning.

Do stay safe and hope you all have a great time on the Ning!

Best wishes

Glenn
