The First Ever Community Psychology Festival*

Fri 28th & Sat 29th November 2014

London, Bloomsbury Baptist Church 

Our big announcement is that the Focus E15 Mothers will be coming along to talk after Sue Holland and Jim Orford on the Friday at our Festival. I am truly excited and humbled by this.

They are a truly inspirational bunch of young Mothers who are taking social action against the cuts to social housing and services in East London. They have been big mainstream news and I feel privileged they are giving some of their time to our Festival! As practitioners who understand the impact of instability and homelessness - I believe we should stand firmly in solidarity with them and discuss what we can do to support them. Who knows they may even bring Russell Brand along who is a big fan of their campaign!?

Friday 28th November midday - 6.30pm - on the main stage or the David Smail stage

Friday also includes The Brick Box and community arts, the Social Kitchen, Developing Partners, young people from MAC-UK, Forum Theatre session and the English Collective of Prostitutes all running workshops.

Saturday 29th November 10am - 2pm - on the main stage or David Smail stage

Saturday includes Angela Byrne and the walk and talk group, DOST who work alongside unaccompanied asylum seekers, the ever impressive S.T.O.R.M charity from Wandsworth, TRYangle dramatherapy workshop and Psychologists Against Austerity launching the new campaign. 

We will be inviting you to think about your own vision for public services as part of the Festival.

The plan is for young people from Kids Company to cater the Festival and there are more workshops and organisations to be confirmed. 

So make it your CPD, make it your first Community Psychology event - just make it along!
