Sue Holland carried out seminal work in the late 1980s in community action working with women from the White City Estate in West London. She developed ideas branching out from individual psychotherapy to involving groups and eventually collective social action. She defined her work as moving from the 'psychic space' through to the 'social space' and in turn into the 'political space'. More recently, Sue has been involved in the development of the M.A.R.E.S (Minorities Agricultural & Rural Equestrian Skills) project in Amersham which offers day therapy and skills training in agricultural, horticultural and equestrian activities for people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, people with mental health difficulties or people who are excluded, disadvantaged or isolated (service users).
As some of you may already be aware, Sue is officially retired and so we are very lucky that she has agreed to travel to London and speak to UCL trainees. Therefore we would like to open the invite to trainees from the other North Thames courses as well as the Community Psychology Network so that as many people as possible can take advantage of this opportunity.
Tickets to the event are free but please register here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sue-holland-talk-tickets-17336785793
We look forward to seeing you there,
